# Lone working policy

## General policy

Lone working is any activity which does not involve interaction with other hackerspace members (or guests), or without close supervision.

Anyone working on their own **must** have a working mobile phone with them. This is the only sensible way to get help in a hurry (ie call 999/112). Sending emails and posts to message boards is not appropriate in this situation.

For other concerns, South Block's general manager is Teia Hughes and **their 24h phone number is 0141 553 5890**. (For less urgent matters, the front desk can be contacted on 0141 271 4700 or direct on 0141 553 5896 extension 1025.)

**Lone working is not prohibited but equipment (especially soldering irons and hot air stations) must be turned off when leaving the workstation unattended.**
